Instructors seminar of IJKA Bulgaria with Sadashige Kato Sensei, 9th Dan, IJKA world chief instructor

On March 2 and 3, 2019, a Shotokan Karate Do instructors seminar was held at Shiseikan Dojo, with Sadashige Kato Sensei, 9th Dan, world chief instructor of the International Japan Karate Association (IJKA). The host of the event was IJKA Bulgaria.
All instructors and assistant instructors from the clubs, members of IJKA-Bulgaria, took part in the two-day activities.
The training with our teacher began with the improvement of the basic techniques and positions in karate, body construction and work with the axle. Emphasis was on synchronizing the work of all parts of the body in positions, techniques and movements of karate in accordance with the principles of power utilization, tightening and relaxation, contraction and expansion, respiration.
Normally, single techniques have gone into combinations, combinations - in kata movements. The kata moves turned into defenses and attacks in kumite and all together in an incredible spectacle of traditional karate in which the main actors were all of us.

Techniques with fists, open-hand techniques, defenses and attacks with elbows, legs, and foot strikes. Entering an attack on the opponent's attack, leaving the attack with another attack, the admiration of the dynamic training was in the eyes of all of us.

Bassai Dai and Jion Kata had been developed in detail. Every movement and technique found its explanation and application, Rhythm, breathing, leg movements, hands and body obeyed the spirit of Kato Sensei. Slow - fast, fast - slow, tightening - relaxing, pushing - pulling.

Each participant came under the watchful eye of the teacher. Every mistake has been corrected. We all were happy and satisfied.

Fantastic Seminar. And after finishing despite the tiredness of intense workouts we all wanted more and more.

Finally, by sharing with Sensei, we thanked him for having been regularly in Bulgaria since 1996 to teach us. We thanked him for his inexhaustible energy, despite the age and the inspiration he is charging us with. We thank him for taking us forward in the world of traditional karate.

Thank you very much Sensei!

Ossu!
